What is Regulation Status?
Regulation status is a market indicator showing how strict short-term rental (STR) regulations are in a market. It is based on the percentage of listings with a short-term license information.
How Regulation Status Works
Markets are classified as:
- Strict: More than 50% of listings are licensed.
- Lenient: Less than 50% of listings are licensed
In the Market Summary, you can hover over the regulation status—for example, hovering over Strict regulations will show the percentage of listings with a short-term license displayed in their Airbnb profile.

What is a Short-Term License?
A short-term license refers to the permit or registration number displayed on a listing. Airbtics detects this information by scraping and analyzing publicly available Airbnb listing data.

Always verify current STR regulations and licensing requirements with local authorities.
